Who We Are

I started this practice after seeing a gap between therapy goals and real-life progress. Balance Point Therapy is a neurodiversity-affirming therapy practice dedicated to supporting children, teens, and families in real-world environments. I believe meaningful progress comes from understanding each individual’s unique strengths, needs, and goals, and building skills that naturally fit into everyday routines.

I take a collaborative, client and family-centered approach, focusing on regulation, independence, functional social skills, and community participation. Through individualized therapy, small group experiences, and caregiver support, we create practical, meaningful opportunities for growth that extend beyond the therapy session.

At Balance Point Therapy, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. We meet individuals where they are, support them as they grow, and help families feel confident carrying progress into daily life.

Alyssa Lawton, BA, Early Childhood Educator & Special Education Endorsement

Alyssa supports clients through thoughtful, individualized group experiences rooted in her background as a trained K–3 and special education educator. With experience as both a kindergarten teacher and a resource room teacher, she brings a strong understanding of child development, differentiated instruction, and meeting learners where they are. Alyssa is also a strong tutor for adolescents on the spectrum.

Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and highly individualized, with a focus on helping children build confidence, independence, and functional social skills in a supportive environment. She works closely with the occupational therapist during our summer program to ensure group sessions are meaningful, practical, and accessible—helping children practice skills that carry over into the classroom, home, and community.

At Balance Point Therapy, Alyssa is passionate about creating inclusive spaces where children feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow alongside peers.
